Confession time. I click on Yahoo news a few times a day if I have my laptop out. I’ll scroll through and read the headlines, just to get a glimpse of what is happening in the world. Occasionally, an article of intrigue will come up, and I’ll open it to read the whole thing. But more often than not, the headlines are more than enough to tell a story all their own.
I can get absolutely absorbed in doing this for about 15 minutes. And by the time I’m done, I actually feel a bit dirty, or slimed. My vibration and energy field definitely feel the shift that has been created by seeing all the horrible shit that is happening out there, or more specifically, the horrendous acts of cruelty that we inflict on each other. Because politics aside, the news is usually telling you the absolute worst things that happened to another human being today. Or, it’s updating us on the relationship status of two “celebrities” I’ve never even heard of.
But, can we even say “politics aside”? EVERYTHING IS POLITICIZED NOW! Every news story is designed to rip us apart, polarize us, and have us at each other’s throats like a pack of wolves. And what better platform to instigate this divide than FaceBook and Twitter? You scroll through looking for inspiration, humor, or just entertainment, but quickly find yourself engulfed in confusing and conflicting information as you try to navigate your “true north”, while the poles are shifting beneath our feet. To face mask, or not to face mask? Which ever side you take, you are dead wrong and your “friends” or complete strangers will attack you for it. But it’s not just the pandemic. There is ALWAYS SOMETHING. And now, to my heart’s great sadness, it is the death of George Floyd. How many times has the image of him being pinned to the ground come up on your screen in the last 48 hours?
It feels like a constant bombardment, whether it’s the news, social media, or your gossiping friend who just called to give you an earful. Even tv shows, movies, and books can pull you in and alter your energy field. You get sucked into the world “out there”. It can almost be seen as if you are projecting yourself into the situation or story. You feel attacked, abused, disenfranchised, or oppressed, all from the comfort of your own living room. Some may label this as empathy, but at that moment, when your completely immersed in all the conflicting emotions the story elicits, you are now attracting that energy into your life. THAT ENERGY BECOMES YOUR NEW NOW MOMENT. And so long as that story plays on a loop in your brain, you continue to recycle that energy over and over again, prolonging your drop in vibration. And just in case you have the mental discipline to cut that repetitive brain loop, the news and social media will replay it for you with 24/7 coverage of whatever they can sink their teeth into. And as this happens, your energy is being siphoned.
It is important to break that connection, and it’s power over you. Tear your eyes away from your TV screen, laptop, or cell, and look around you. Look at the room you are in. Tune into the energy of that room. What is the temperature of the room? Who is in the room with you? Tune into your own energy field and body. Are you tense? Shaking? Have you been gritting your teeth and holding your breath without realizing it? Take a deep cleansing breath, and return to your true now moment, your true reality. This moment is your reality, and wherever you apply your attention. Do you see? There are no angry protesters in your house, no flooding in your house, no attackers bringing violence and trauma into your house. But as you read and absorbed those stories, you connected to them and became one with the energy they created, and brought it into your energy field, and into your home.
We as Light Workers stand and bear witness to the event horizon, and strive to be the detached observer to what is happening, while holding a space for the most benevolent outcome with our compassion. But now, more than ever, we must learn to be PRESENT in our own personal NOW MOMENT. This is the only way you can tune into the true you and fully appreciate each moment of contentment and bliss that are available to you. And above all, practice discernment and good spiritual hygiene. Cleanse your energy field often, and properly shield and protect yourself.
At this moment, my home is very quiet and still. The sky outside is dark and brooding, but the vibrant green leaves sway gently in the soft breeze. There’s not a soul in sight as I look out the window, but trees are peaceful sentries that keep me company. There is fresh coffee perking, filling my nostrils with a sense “home”. This moment demands nothing of me. I can just sit in this moment, and let it be my now.
Return to your Now Moment as often as you can throughout the day. See how your whole vibration shifts. See how your peace grows.
